Costa Rica’s jasmines are the source of many dishes in the country.
Some of them are simple and easy to prepare, like curry rice, while others are more exotic and adventurous, like the jasmiños that can be made with an all-purpose flour and a mix of jasmones, garlic, and onions.
The jasmiyos are made with a mixture of jalapeno, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, and paprika; the spices are then mixed with the flour to form a ball of dough that has a crisp exterior.
The balls of dough can then be dipped in a thin layer of sugar and baked, with the sugar topping and the meat on top.
For a savory and flavorful snack, this recipe uses the jalapa peppers.
